Ok, I exaggerate. But we did break the Archaeological Institute of America’s website last weekend, over the voting for ArchaeoMadness. If you’ve been following this site on Facebook you would have voted to put Angkor Wat on top, and Angkor Wat beat out stiff competition like Macchu Pichu and Tikal, eventually beating out Caracol to win this year’s crown.

It was a great online effort, on the part of many supporters from Cambodia, Southeast Asia and overseas. I hope next year Angkor Wat gets put in a Hall of Fame and we can see participation from other Southeast Asian sites, eg Borobudur!
(Y) Yes, Borobudur please. But if it’s not asking for too much, Prambanan 😀
You should definitely suggest those sites for next year (I think you can leave comments on the AIA post). There are lots of great sites in SEA that should be considered!
Actually, Borobudur participated this year.
