The Phnom Penh Post reports that yet another incidence of taking nude photos is being investigated, this time by a German photographer. This is the fourth incident in recent weeks.
The naked temple pics just keep on coming
Phnom Penh Post, 12 February 2015
Apsara is investigating yet another naked photo allegedly taken at the Angkor Archaelogical Park in Siem Reap.
Captioned “Hakuna Matata” (“no worries”), the picture, appearing on the website of 25-year-old German photographer Simon Lohmeyer, shows a couple naked at the ancient temple, posing with monkey masks.
Also shared on Facebook, the snap is the latest to cause a stir with the Cambodian authorities who on Saturday deported two American sisters for taking photos of each other’s bare buttocks at the temples. Their deportation came just a week after three French tourists were booted for “exposure of sexual organs” at the Banteay Kdei temple.
Full story here.
Time to start imposing serious fines and jail time for those involved. People are obviously not in fear of punishment.
I was surprised with how little security were at the temples. I love have accessible they are, for now, but definitely saw tourists taking advantage. Someone could have used a sharpie to write on them, and nobody would have seen.
If interested, I just posted about my experiences with a captioned photo driven post here –
