via ABS-CBN News, 16 April 2019: Philippine archaeologists excavating in Bulacan for more traces of early humans. There is a video in the news story linked below.
Archaeologists have begun digging in Biak-na-Bato cave network in Bulacan to further trace the journey of ancient humans in Luzon.
“I believe if you have something in the north, there has to be something in the south of Luzon,” said Armand Mijares, head of the Callao Archaeological Project that unearthed fossils of Homo luzonesis, a previously unknown human species, in Callao Cave in Cagayan province.
The project in Biak-na-Bato was started 3 years ago in collaboration with the Bulacan State University, said Mijares.
