via Eleven Myanmar, 19 Aug 2019: Myanmar intends to submit its proposal by early next year.
As Myanmar tries to put Mrauk-U cultural region on the list of World Heritage Site, a draft proposal will be submitted to the World Heritage Committee in September this year and a final proposal in February 2020. The enlistment effort started in 2016 and plans are underway to submit a nomination dossier draft to UNESCO. Mrauk-U region is home to numerous ancient pagodas, stupas and buildings that show heritage from ancient civilizations.
