“Decolonizing Museums- Southeast Asian perspectives” brings together artists and curators from Southeast Asia and scholars of Southeast Asian art to explore representation of Southeast Asian Art in Museums as institutionalized knowledge-generating spaces. What are some of the ways contemporary artists in Southeast Asia challenge the colonial past and engage with history to reconceptualize the present? How can a museum be a space for productive decolonizing interventions? Participants will share some of their recent works addressing these questions.
