via Khmer Times, 20 March 2020: All Cambodian museums to close for the foreseeable future in the light of the Covid-19 crisis.
The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts yesterday announced the nationwide closure of museums for the foreseeable future in light of the coronavirus crisis. The museums join a long list of establishments that have temporarily closed its doors since the pandemic began.
“We have announced the temporary closure of all museums following the instruction of the government and the Ministry of Health until the health crisis is abated,” said Culture Ministry spokesman Long Bunna Sireyvath.
In addition to small museums that line up the Kingdom, he said the country currently houses eight major national and private museums – the National Museum and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum in the capital, the Wat Po Phnom Museum in Battambang province, four in Siem Reap province and one in Takeo province.
