via Myanmar Times, 17 July 2020: Update on repair of Bagan temples damage from the 2016 earthquake, but also a mention about cracks under the Mahamuni Buddha image in Mandalay, which is covered by 600 kg (!) of gold.
The 6.8-magnitude earthquake on August 24, 2016, damaged 389 ancient buildings and pagodas in the Bagan Cultural Zone in Mandalay Region, the ministry said.
Local and foreign experts helped in the repair of the structures under the supervision of the Department of Archaeology and Culture.
