via Vietnam Plus, 22 Sep 2020: The National Assembly House in Hanoi sits on top of an archaeological site, the remains of part of the Thang Long Citadel. Two basements of the building have been converted into a site museum to showcase the historic ruins.
The National Assembly’s Office, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), and the Hanoi People’s Committee on September 22 held a hand-over ceremony for the area displaying underground archaeological discoveries at the NA House.
Speaking at the ceremony, VASS President Associate Prof. Dr. Bui Nhat Quang said the area has given a facelift to the NA House and affirmed the sound guidelines of the Party and the State in preserving and upholding heritage values of the Thang Long royal citadel.
This will be a highlight in promoting Vietnam’s cultural heritage to foreign leaders, as well as Vietnamese and international tourists in the time head, he said.
