As many of you know, Myanmar’s government was overthrown by a military coup early on Monday morning, shocking many of us in the country and around the world. I feel a deep sense of dismay at the recent events but at the same time I feel relieved for many friends who have been able to post on Facebook. I last visited Myanmar almost a year ago – it was the last country I visited before the global lockdowns happened, and I remember telling myself that it was not the last time I would be there.
