via Thai PBS, 03 February 2021: The foundations of what is thought to be Lanna-period palace has been discovered during construction work in Chiang Mai. Two stories link below, but they are both in Thai.

สำนักศิลปากรที่ 7 (เชียงใหม่) เปิดพื้นที่ขุดค้นโบราณคดี ให้เข้าชมการขุดค้น นักวิชาการเสนอเปิดรับฟังความเห็นให้เป็นพื้นที่สาธารณะแหล่งเรียนรู้ประวัติศาสตร์ “พระราชวังล้านนา” และพัฒนาการของเมืองเชียงใหม่แต่ละยุคสมัย

วันนี้ (3 ก.พ.64) สำนักศิลปากรที่ 7 (เชียงใหม่) เปิดพื้นที่ 20 ไร่ บริเวณทัณฑสถานหญิงเก่า ที่ขุดค้นทางโบราณคดีพบโบราณสถานโบราณวัตถุจำนวนมาก เชื่อมโยงไปยังอาณาจักรล้านนายุคต้นสมัยราชวงศ์มังราย (อ่านเพิ่มเติม เปิดหลักฐานพระราชวังล้านนา “คุ้มเวียงแก้ว” เชียงใหม่

การเปิดให้เข้าเยี่ยมชมมีผู้ลงทะเบียน และร่วมเข้าชมจำนวนมากจาก ภาคประชาชน นักวิชาการ และหน่วยงานราชการ เช่น ศ.ธเนศวร์ เจริญเมือง, ศ.สรัสวดี อ๋องสกุล , รศ.สมโชติ อ๋องสกุล ฯลฯ
