via Tempo, 24 February 2021: Access gates built to facilitate tourism to Borobudur from nearby cities.
The Indonesian government made various changes in the Borobudur Temple area in Magelang, Central Java.
As quoted from the official website of the Directorate of Settlement Area Development, the largest Buddhist temple in the world was favored by many tourists. There are also several temples near the complex, namely Mendut, Ngawen, Losari, Pawon, and Canggal temples.
On this basis, the government was determined to build more gates to the temple which is located close to several cities such as Yogyakarta, Semarang, Solo, and others. The gates are expected to ease tourists from the mentioned regions to visit the temple.
