One-year Visiting Professorship at Ohio University in Southeast Asian Studies. Deadline is 20 April 2021.
Ohio University’s Center for International Studies is seeking applicants for the Frances M. and Stephen H. Fuller Visiting Professorship in Southeast Asian Studies. The successful candidate will be a tenured Professor or Associate Professor (or equivalent at their home institution) with a record of scholarship that has contributed significantly to advancing the understanding and appreciation of Southeast Asia and its peoples.
Ideally, the visiting professorship would span a full academic year (2021-22), but a one-semester appointment could be negotiated. The visiting professor will be expected to teach one upper-level course per semester. In addition, we envision the scholar mentoring graduate students and delivering a research presentation for the university community. The ideal candidate would bring energy, enthusiasm, and ideas to the Southeast Asian Studies program, the Center for International Studies, and Ohio University.
With a tradition of teaching and scholarship on Southeast Asia that dates to the early 1950s, Ohio University has compiled one of the world’s finest Southeast Asia library collections. The successful candidate would enjoy full access to this collection as well as other research and teaching resources at the university.
This is a fully compensated appointment, with a stipend commensurate with rank and record.
