via Khmer Times, 05 August 2021: The Preah Vihear visitors’ centre is expected to be completed next year.
Preah Vihear authorities yesterday started work on building a Visitor Centre for tourists to the region’s famous Preah Vihear temple.
According to the PVNA (Preah Vihear National Authority), the new centre will be located in front of the Samdech Techo Hun Sen Global Natural Museum and will include a ticketing office for entrance to the temple, a tourist information building, a waiting area and car park bays.
Kong Puthika, PVNA director-general, told Khmer Times yesterday: “The Centre will be a good destination for tourists visiting the temple and can be used for information on other destinations in the country. This is a great addition to the repair works on the temple itself, including the stairs, and will give people a better understanding of the temple and conservation efforts”.
