via Khmer Times, 20 November 2021: Buddha images in the highest level of Angkor Wat are restored.
Apsara Authority, in cooperation with the private sector, held a religious ceremony yesterday to restore three Buddha statues at Bakan of Angkor Wat.
Yit Chandaroath, Deputy Director-General of Apsara Authority said that the three Buddha statues in Bakan of Angkor Wat were damaged due to wear and tear, leaked water and bat urination.
He added the damaged and decaying Buddha statues were restored after the Authority received financial support from Madam Sieng Chanheng, president of Heng Development Company.
