via ecns, 09 January 2022: China launches a project to restore the Thatbyinnyu Pagoda in Bagan.
A ceremony to launch the renovation project of Thatbyinnyu Pagoda aided by China has been held in Myanmar’s Bagan, according to a release from the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar late Saturday.
Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Chen Hai stressed that the cooperation of renovating pagodas would enhance cultural heritage preservation and exchange of cultural arts and strengthen the “Paukphaw” friendship, a Myanmar word for siblings, between the two countries.
