via Vietnam Net, 24 Janaury 2022: The proposed Yen Tu Monuments and Landscapes site is associated with the Tran Dynasty and the birthplace of Vietnamese Buddhism.
The northern provinces of Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, and Bac Giang have pledged to complete a scientific dossier on the Complex of Yen Tu Monuments and Landscapes in 2022 as they seek UNESCO recognition as a world heritage site.
Under the commitment, which was recently signed by the People’s Committees of the three neighbouring provinces, they will work together to finalise the initial nomination dossier before submitting it to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism by July 30.
After making all necessary revisions, if any, they will subsequently submit the dossier to UNESCO for evaluation by September 30, with the official dossier going to the Paris-headquartered organisation by December 31.
The complex of Yen Tu Monuments and Landscapes is made up of four clusters of special national historical relics.
