via Khmer Times, 10 March 2022: Decision on whether Koh Ker will be a Unesco World Heritage site is expected in June.
Cambodia successfully submitted documents to include Koh Ker in the World Heritage list, which will be evaluated by a committee later this year, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts said.
UNESCO has accepted the nomination document of Koh Ker and a decision will be taken by the World Heritage Committee, ministry spokesman Long Ponnasirivath said.
Director-general of the National Authority for Preah Vihear, Kong Puthika, who led the research on Koh Ker Temple, said that the nomination document was finalised in January last year.
