This May and June, SEAMEO SPAFA is organising an online course on the Rock Art of Southeast Asia and the World. This is a project that I am in charge of personally, and one I am excited to share with everyone. This course is unique because it is a world rock art course where the instructors are experts in their part of the world, and we get to cover all parts of the globe: Africa, the Americas, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and of course Southeast Asia!
Like our previous online course on Bones Conservation, this course is designed to be taken at your own time with a few lectures coming out every week. Each week will focus on the rock art of a Southeast Asian country and another part of the world, and in between there’s also sections covering rock art research and conservation, as well as virtual site visits. As an introductory course to the rock art of the world, there’s something for everyone; personally I wanted to introduce Southeast Asian rock art to the world, but also get exposed to different rock art research perspectives from outside.
I hope you will consider joining the course or recommending the course to your friends and colleagues. There is a small registration fee of around US$30 which is well worth the price of virtually travelling around the world!
