via Khmer Times, 31 May 2022: Koh Ker was expected to be inscribed into the World Heritage List this year, but the decision is postponed as the World Heritage Committee is postponed – it was scheduled to be held in Russia this month.
A decision on the inscription of the ancient Koh Ker temple on the World Heritage List has been delayed after the World Heritage Committee postponed its 45th session which was scheduled to be held in Russia from June 19 to 30.
The Director-General of the National Authority for Preah Vihear, Kong Puthika, said the meeting was pushed back due to the conflict in Ukraine.
Koh Ker is a 10th century temple complex and the former capital of the Khmer Empire.
