via Khmer Times, 28 June 2022: Camboian archaeologist Thuy Chanthuon and his research on the Chenla-period temples in Kratie province.
Thuy Chanthuon, a well-known archaeologist in Cambodia, plans to chronicle the discovery of many temples in Sampu Borak, the former capital of Cambodia, which is now located in Kratie province.
Chanthuon, who is with the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said in an interview with Khmer Times that currently he has been researching issues related to Sampu Borak, the former Khmer capital during the Chenla period.
He said: “In the former capital of Sampu Borak, stretching from Kampong Cham province to the Laos border along the Mekong River, I discovered more than 40 ancient temples that have not yet been recorded by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts.”
