via Khmer Times, 07 July 2022: Preah Vihear was one of the more contentious Unesco World Heritage Inscriptions, having sparked a small war between Thailand and Cambodia.
Prime Minister Hun Sen posted a message celebrating the 14th year of Preah Vihear’s inscription into the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Prime Minister posted on his official Facebook page on July 7 to celebrate the occasion.
“Today is the 14th anniversary of the inscription of the Temple of Preah Vihear as a World Heritage Site (July 7, 2008 – July 7, 2022). July 7, 2008 is considered a new historical event since Cambodia received this sacred temple after winning the case against Thailand at the International Court of Justice in The Hague on June 15, 1962,” wrote the Premier.
