via Khmer Times, 27 July 2022: Restoration project with the German Apsara Conservation Project.
Technicians of the APSARA National Authority in collaboration with G.A.C.P are working to restore the carvings at the 8th brick tower of Bakong Temple, which is being damaged gradually.
According to a news release of the APSARA National Authority issued this morning, the restoration project began in early 2022 and focused on strengthening some of the remaining carvings on the temple walls to prevent further damage.
