The number of monkeys living in Angkor resort area has increased and are becoming a risk to tourists.
According to APSARA National Authority, the monkeys no longer enter the forest in search of food but instead wait for food from humans and sometimes snatch food from tourists.
Lek Kimlin, head of a tourism agency at Angkor Wat, said that the number of monkeys at Angkor Wat has increased recently. The monkeys annoy visitors almost every day and sometimes bite visitors as well. They snatched the belongings of tourists, and look for food in trash bins, which affects the hygiene of the environment.
