via The Star, 18 April 2023: Penang’s State Museum is expected to reopen next year after renovations.
THE iconic Penang State Museum in Farquhar Street, which is currently undergoing restoration work, is expected to be reopened next year.
State Museum and Art Gallery director Haryany Mohamad said the facelift would be carried out in two phases, with phase one slated for completion by the middle of next year.
An extensive interior layout is in the final phase of restoration work.
“We expect the museum to attract about 5,000 visitors a month once it is opened to the public,” she told Buletin Mutiara after a site inspection.
