via Khmer Times, 12 May 2023: A man in Siem Reap province took his life by jumping into the moat of Angkor Wat due to being lovesick after his lover married someone else.
A jilted lover took his life by jumping into the moat of the popular tourist attraction Angkor Wat in Siem Reap province on Wednesday evening.
The victim was named Sao Mech, about 30 years old, a Cambodian living in Siem Reap.
The body was found after several hours of search in and around the Angkor Wat waterfront after he went missing on Wednesday afternoon.
