via Khmer Times, 30 May 2023: Oddar Meanchey, once a remote and isolated province in Cambodia, has transformed into an attractive tourist destination with its improved road infrastructure, offering visitors the chance to explore the last stronghold of the Khmer Rouge at Anlong Veng, including the memorial site of Pol Pot’s grave and Ta Mok’s preserved lakeside house, while also promoting other cultural and historical attractions such as the ancient Spean Toap bridge and Prohm Kel temple.
Oddar Meanchey was formerly a remote and isolated province in the far north of Cambodia. It was difficult to reach because of its bad road infrastructure in the 1990s. But today, the roads are new, and the province has a lot to offer visitors, especially the last stronghold of the Khmer Rouge (KR) at Anlong Veng.
