via Phnom Penh Post, 13 June 2023: The 37th technical session of ICC-Angkor and Sambor Prei Kuk, co-chaired by representatives of Cambodia’s Culture Ministry, the French and Japanese embassies, and UNESCO, reviewed restoration works and strategies for various temples within the Angkor Archaeological Park, along with assessing progress on earlier recommendations.
The International Coordinating Committee for Angkor and Sambor Prei Kuk (ICC-Angkor and Sambor Prei Kuk) recently held its 37th technical session, focusing on discussing and monitoring the implementation of previously approved recommendations.
The session was co-chaired by Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Phoeurng Sackona, who is also the president of the board of the APSARA National Authority (ANA), representatives from the French and Japanese embassies in Cambodia, as well as the UNESCO representative to Cambodia.
ANA said that the ICC-Angkor’s technical session reviewed the recommendations adopted in the 36th technical session and the 29th plenary meeting held in December 2022. It examined the report on repair and conservation activities conducted by the technical team.
