via Tempo, 04 July 2023: Indonesia’s Tourism and Creative Economy Minister is implementing special strategies to develop megalithic sites in the country as cultural heritage tourism attractions, focusing on storytelling, conservation, and sustainable infrastructure development to attract tourists.
“Megalithic sites are a cultural heritage from the past which have enormous potential and I have seen that in several areas that they can become cultural heritage tourism objects,” Sandiaga said.
He mentioned several locations such as megalithic villages in Flores, Gunung Padang in Cianjur, and Pokekea in Lore Lindu National Park, besides the Stone Graves.
One of the strategies for developing these heritage sites is through storynomics tourism, a tourism communication approach that prioritizes narrative, creative content, and historical and cultural forces.
