via Global New Light of Myanmar, 25 July 2023: The Department of Archaeology and National Museum in Myanmar is planning to conduct research on the Pyu period costumes, genetics, and life-span calculations of the Pyu people.
U Aung Aung Kyaw, Director of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum, said that research on the Pyu period costumes, the genetics and life-span calculation of the Pyu people will be carried out.
To do such research, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture has currently established the Pyu generation research supervision team and the Pyu generation field research team.
“Regarding Pyu, our department is verifying literary evidence, field research reports, excavation findings, and stone inscriptions with a team of research officers led by the Deputy Director-General.
