via New Straits Times, 30 July 2023: The management of the Lenggong Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has been transferred from the National Heritage Department to the Perak government, with an allocation of RM5 million announced for promoting Visit Perak Year 2024.
The Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry, through the National Heritage Department, today handed over the management of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) World Heritage Site of Lenggong Valley to the Perak government.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said he hoped that the site would be better managed under the state government.
