via Khmer Times, 20 December 2023: The restoration project of Ta Prohm Temple’s eastern gate in Siem Reap is approximately 60% complete, with completion expected in early 2024. The joint effort between the APSARA National Authority and India, employs the Anastylosis technique, involving the meticulous reconstruction of the gate’s original structure.
The project to restore the eastern gate of Ta Prohm Temple in Siem Reap provincial city is now about 60 percent completed, and will be completed in early 2024, said a working group of the cooperation between APSARA National Authority and India yesterday.
Mr. Chitranjan Kumar, Ta Prohm restoration project manager, said the process of restoring the eastern gate of Ta Prohm was based on the Anastylosis technique by removing the entire pile of collapsed gates to find its original location.
