via various sources, 22-24 Feb 2024: The Supreme Patriarch of Thailand conducted a ceremonial enshrinement of the relics of Buddha’s disciples, Sariputra and Maudgalyayana, at Sanam Luang in Bangkok, marking the occasion of Makha Bucha Day and His Majesty the King’s 72nd birthday. This event, presided over by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, initiates a temporary enshrinement tour across Thailand, allowing devotees to pay respects in multiple provinces until March 19.
The Supreme Patriarch of Thailand on Friday performed a religious ceremony to enshrine the relics of the Buddha’s disciples, Sariputra and Maudgalyayana, in a mandapa (temporary pavilion) at Sanam Luang park in Bangkok’s Phra Nakhon district.
