via Khmer Times, 17 March 2024: Phoeurng Sackona, Cambodia’s Minister of Culture, met with KOICA’s President Chang Won Sam to enhance cultural and heritage cooperation, focusing on the restoration of Angkor’s temples. This collaboration was highlighted during the 30th Plenary Session of the International Coordinating Committee for Angkor and Sambor Prei Kuk, underscoring a deepened partnership between Cambodia and South Korea. The agreement includes a notable project for the conservation of Angkor Wat’s Bakan, set to span 2024-2026.
Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts and President of the Board of Apsara National Authority met with Mr Chang Won Sam, President of KOICA of the Republic of Korea and his colleagues to strengthen cooperation in the field of culture and heritage, especially the restoration of temples in the Angkor area.
The meeting was taking the opportunity outside the 30th Plenary Session of the International Coordinating Committee for the Safeguarding and Development of the Historic Sites of Angkor and Sambor Prei Kuk in Siem Reap on 15 March 2024.
