via Vietnam Plus, 26 April 2024: Ninh Binh, a northern province in Vietnam, is actively seeking further support from UNESCO to enhance its cultural heritage preservation and integration into global networks of heritage and tourism hubs. During a meeting with Simona-Mirela Miculescu, President of the 42nd General Conference of UNESCO, local leader Doan Minh Huan highlighted the successes in tourism and heritage preservation, particularly at the Trang An Landscape Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014.
The northern province of Ninh Binh hopes to receive further support from UNESCO to preserve and promote its cultural heritage as well as better integrate into the world’s network of heritage, tourism and cultural industry hubs and creative cities, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Doan Minh Huan has said.
At a reception for President of the 42nd General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Simona-Mirela Muculescu on April 26, Huan thanked UNESCO for assisting the province over the past years, helping it to shine bright on the country’s tourism map and rank in the top 10 provinces an cities with the highest numbers of visitors.
