via Khmer Times, 2 May 2024: Residents of Angkor will conduct a traditional rain-making ceremony at the Neak Poan temple in Siem Reap on May 2-3, 2024. The event, organized by the Apsara National Authority, invites both locals and international visitors to experience a longstanding cultural tradition of the Angkor community, emphasizing communal participation and cultural heritage.
The Angkor residents are all set to celebrate a traditional rain ceremony at the historic Neak Poan in Siem Reap province. This two-day event will take place from May 2 to 3, 2024, offering a unique opportunity to witness our rich cultural heritage.
The Apsara National Authority stated on May 1 that residents of Leang Dai commune, Angkor Thom district, will hold a rain-making ceremony according to the traditional customs of the villagers in the area of Neak Poan Kandal temple, Chey Tadakbaray, or northern baray from May 2 to 3, 2024.
