via Khmer Times, 21 May 2024: The APSARA National Authority is undertaking a restoration project for the balustrades of Banteay Samre Temple. This effort aims to preserve the temple’s structural integrity and historical significance.
The restoration was made possible through the cooperation of ANA and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), further emphasising international support for such crucial conservation projects.
Long Kosal, spokesman for the ANA, said yesterday that the work is part of ANA’s regular restoration operations, including fixing broken and fallen sandstone.
“The restoration is regular work for the ANA, and the damage occurs in many different places, but we repair as much as we possibly can, according to the resources we have,” he said.
