The Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Caysasay has been officially declared a National Cultural Treasure and National Historical Landmark.
This designation is expected to significantly contribute to the preservation of Batangas’ rich history and the promotion of the Catholic faith in the region.
The church, which underwent over two years of renovation, was formally handed over to the Archdiocese of Lipa by the National Museum of the Philippines on June 20.
In an interview, Sam Lascano, coordinator for the shrine ministry council, emphasized the church’s dual significance to Filipino culture and the Catholic faith.
