via The Standard, 03 July 2024: This article in Thai recounts Thailand’s ongoing struggle to reclaim its lost antiques, such as the Golden Boy and the Praying Woman, reveals a complex web of smuggling, war, and influential brokers like Douglas Latchford. These cultural treasures, often found in foreign museums, highlight both the historical plundering during the Vietnam and Cambodian wars and the challenges faced in reclaiming them today. Efforts by archaeologists and committees have yielded some success, but many items still remain abroad, waiting for their return.
