via ABS-CBN News, 29 July 2024: Raizel Pauline Albano’s “Anthro on Foot,” an innovative project featuring 57 audio walking tours across 17 Philippine regions, won the “Star of Outstanding” category at UNESCO’s 2024 Global Awards for World Heritage Education Innovative Cases. This recognition, awarded at the UNESCO World Heritage Committee session in New Delhi, highlights Albano’s contribution to heritage education.
Out of some 300 entries, Albano’s work was selected as one of the ten heritage education projects in the “Star of Outstanding” category.
The awards category included heritage projects from Hong Kong, China, Spain, Abu Dhabi, Hungary, and Britain.
She said she is the first Filipino to receive an award from the AWHEIC, launched in 2022 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the World Heritage Convention.
The heritage award body is organized by the World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for the Asia and the Pacific Region (WHITRAP) with the help and support of UNESCO.
