via Frontier Myanmar, 08 August 2017: Artefacts taken from the Shwemawdaw Pagoda in Bago during the 19th century as part of the spoils of war are returned from New Zealand soldier’s descendant in a repatriation ceremony.
In returning Myanmar relics almost two centuries after their capture, a New Zealand lawyer concludes a generations-old story of conquest, spoil and reconciliation.
