Archaeologist to search for 3,000-year-old relics

Archeologists hope to find traces of Vietnam’s ancient inhabitants during a six month excavation beginning February 20.
The excavation of a 2,000-squaremeter area at the Vinh Yen archaeological site in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa will be the second such exploration of the site, said the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Last August, the first archaeological dig at the site unearthed artifacts up to 3,000 years old, including 10 ceramic and rock structures, eight tombs and more than 400 stone, copper and terracotta items.
