Locals have mixed reaction to Bagan’s pagoda climbing ban

via Myanmar Times, 21 March 2018:

According to the decision of the Bagan Archaeological Management Committee early this year, visitors can no longer climb on the ancient pagodas.

Employees of the committee fenced off the stairs leading to the top of the pagodas to ensure that visitors do not trespass.
