via Myanmar Times, 13 Sep 2019: Myanmar intends to submit its proposal this month to nominate Mrauk U as a Unesco World Heritage site.
Myanmar’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture will submit a proposal to UNESCO this year to list Mrauk-U in Rakhine State as a World Heritage Site.
Local and foreign experts are preparing an application that would present the “tangible and intangible” cultural heritage of Mrauk-U that make it worthy to be part of the UNESCO list, U Kyaw Oo Lwin, director general of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum, said.
