via Mashable SEA, 23 December 2019: The Singapore Stone which was thought to be from the 13th century may be older by a couple of centuries. A new word deciphered from the stone, “kesariva”, could be a part of the word “parakesarivarman” – a title used by several kings of the Chola. The original story in the Straits Times is unfortunately behind a paywall.
Australian researcher Dr Iain Sinclair believes that the Lion City is possibly even more older than what many believe: 700 years old. And the answers lie in the Singapore Stone.
During a conference at the Singapore Indian Heritage Centre, the researcher made known some of his shocking discovery.
At the urging of Singapore Indian Heritage Centre’s Nalina Gopal, Dr Sinclair said he had deciphered the Singapore Stone which had been a source of mystery for many on the island.
