via Myanmar Times, 15 December 2020: Museums in Myanmar prepare for reopening during the Covid-19 pandemic, with new measures to trial in four major museums.
Most museums in Yangon have been closed for some time and are struggling to reopen as the COVID-19 outbreak continues. The Department of Archeologyand the National Museum are still discussing a date for the reopening of Yangon’s museums.
If the outcomes of the talks are successful, four of Myanmar’s largest museums are set to reopen to the public.
The Yangon National Museum, Nay Pyi Taw National Museum, Mandalay Culture and Bagan Archaeological museums will be scheduled to reopen soon.
Visitors to the museum must register online, and after going through four steps, they will be able to visit the museum. The first step is to visit the https://museumsmyanmar.com
website, and select the museum they want to visit.
