via Khmer Times, 09 August 2021: Fragments of a bas-relief found in Kampong Thom province.
Residents in Kampong Thom province have stumbled onto two parts of an ancient cornerstone, one part is the bas-relief of Buddha while the other is the bas-relief of Deva was gone.
The cornerstone is believed to represent the long-lasting Khmer culture of Buddhism and Hinduism in the King Jayavarman VII reign.
The find was made on July 28 at about 2 pm when some residents found it on ancient mound in the Prey totoeng area located in the province’s west of Peam Athit village, Sakream commune in Prasat Balong district.
