November 23 is Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day and so there have been a number of stories capitalising on this event. Here are three I’ve found:
Exhibition promotes Vietnamese cultural heritages’ values – Nhan Dan Online
An exhibition, entitled “Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Space”, officially opened at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts in Hanoi on November 22, as part of the activities to mark Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).
The exhibition is an important cultural event, aiming to honour cultural heritages, nature, and unique landscapes of Vietnam, especially those that have been honoured by UNESCO.
The event will also be held online from November 24 to December 31 via websites http://trienlamvhnt.vn and http://dsvh.gov.vn.
Technology helps Hanoi’s historic relics embrace future – Vietnam Net
Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (The Temple of Literature and the Imperial Academy), a major landmark in Hanoi dating back almost a thousand years, is a prime example of how technology has been utilized despite being unable to physically welcome visitors.
A series of social platforms have been visited by thousands of virtual tourists since the launch of a project to popularise the temple’s historic and cultural values.
Co-launched by the Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam Culture and Science Centre and non-profit organisation Gavisto Diplomat, the Cultural Space of Quoc Tu Giam project has held a number of cultural activities and exchanges on its official Facebook and Instagram pages since September.
It has also organised multiple arts and cultural events for young people at home and from overseas, alongside discussions on how the values of ancient education impact lives today.
Hanoi develops cultural industry from heritages – Nhan Dan
A seminar was held by the Hanoi Municipal Department of Culture and Sports on November 23 to discuss the development of cultural industry through the exploitation of cultural heritages in both in-person and online forms.
The event was part of the activities to mark Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 2005-2021).
Hanoi is home to nearly 6,000 relic sites and 1,793 intangible cultural heritages.
With its huge heritage capital, heritages have become an important natural resource for the city to develop its cultural industry. In contrast, cultural industry will help preserve and promote the values of the heritages.
