via Khmer Times, 14 July 2022: The US pledges another US$360,000 for the restoration of Preah Vihear under the US Ambasadors Fund for Cultural Preservation.
The US government yesterday announced a more than $360,000 grant to support the restoration of the 12th century cliff-top Preah Vihear temple.
The announcement was made yesterday when US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel J. Kritenbrink, US Ambassador to Cambodia Patrick Murphy, and Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Phoeurng Sackona celebrated the repatriation of 27 looted artefacts to Cambodia at the National Museum.
Ambassador Murphy announced $360,800 new grant through the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation to support the restoration of Preah Vihear temple. This is in addition to over $406,000 already provided by the US government for the preservation of the temple, according to the statement.
