via Khmer Times, 25 April 2023: New work starting at Preah Vihear. Also interesting at the comments made about how young archaeologists don’t like to work in remote places.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the archeological site at the West Hall Bridge of Preah Vihear Temple was conducted by the Director of the Department of Conservation and Archaeological Excavation of National Authority for Preah Vihear.
Ear Darith, department director, said that on Sunday he and another department official held the ceremony at the bridge in the Poy Tadi area of Preah Vihear Temple.
Archaelogists will research the structure of the bridge before constructing an adjacent wooden bridge and prepare a floor across the Poy Tadi area to preserve an ancient quarry there. These features will provide access for tourists.
