via Khmer Times, 07 November 2023: Tourists express admiration for the restored western causeway at Angkor Wat, praising the APSARA National Authority’s efforts in preserving this vital link to the iconic temple, which reflects the deep appreciation for Cambodia’s rich heritage.
Kay Kan, 78, from Kampong Thom province, expressed his happiness after walking across the causeway again, describing that he had been crossing it since 2005 when it collapsed and was difficult to travel. But now he steps on the ancient causeway again, seeing that it is strong and makes it easier for tourists to visit Angkor Wat.
Another resident of Kandal province, Ms. NouYorn, said that Angkor Wat’s western causeway is beautiful and more accessible to walk than before. She believes that the renovation of the causeway will preserve the work of the Khmer ancestors for future generations.
